|
As increasing number of new Psychotropics have been being introduced in clinical practices, pharmacological understanding has been broadened. These changes mandate new information and theories to be incorporated into the treatment process of child-adolescent psychiatric disorders. In light of newly coming knowledge, this review intended to recapitulate the adverse effects of psychotropic drugs. There are many psychiatric adverse effects of each drugs that are manifested according to the biological characteristics of the patient across diagnosis. This reflects the lack of biological basis in the current diagnosis system and more research into the still unknown psychctropic effects of each drugs is desired. We should discover clinically significant psychotropic effects currently undefined, guidelines of evidencebased treatm~~nt, and predictable factors related to drug adverse effects in the future research.
